big rocks. big pipes. big surf. big birds. big burgers. that sums up our trip to morro bay in southern california. oh and BIG FUN!morro bay just might be the quintessential california small town(except for the tourists)
a huge surf area (waves were around 10-15 ft), a good fishing community and a cute array of shops and eateries
except the thrift stores were uncomfortably priced , but anna scored on books
and i found a raymond blanc book, werd dawg
everything was brown and beautiful. soooo many wild flowers in california, huge bushels of red flowers all over, also yellow, purple and white flowers too. there is almost no green outside of big sur, but that is soon to be discovered. 
so this is weird, they have these places where you can get a hamburger, no frills just a good burger and fries, hhmmmmm?
coffee update: every small coffee shop we have been to all roast their own beans, a roaster in each shop, so coolxo grant and anna.
postscript
we saw one running cow. and two napping horses. HA!

always great to get a wildlife update...running cows, sleeping horses, big birds....
