jumbles of joy!

oh dear readers... we did not mean to neglect you... please don't think ill of us. we're here now! (after many many internet and computer difficulties), ready to catch you up on our adventures.

now what day is it....? they all seem to jumble up into one big hazy ball of joy.

.... oh yes... two glorious nights of big sur. sleeping in the van on the side of the road overlooking the crashing waves and majestic rocks. we woke up and had our morning coffee overlooking this...
(later that day when the sun came through it sparkled and glistened and seemed to come alive.

not only was the view simply PERFECT... but the company was pretty awesome too. merlin and linda where with us along with two scrub jays that were very happily eating out of our hands (look how much bread this piggy stuffed into his little mouth!!!) and decided to stay and hang out.

the rest day was spent exploring the paths and parks and gazing longingly at the waterful and imagining having a house with that view! grant was pretty excited about all the lizards we saw (4 of them!!!) he believes they are called fence lizards but is bummed that he hasn't seen a snake. me on the on the other hand. i'm ok with that.

we checked out the henry miller library which we probably would have enjoyed much more, had the girl working there been at all pleasant. but it was still pretty cool.

next we snuck our way into the state park for a shower. oh showers... we will never take you for granted again....

before we settled down for dinner and story time... we hung out in the water. (in chairs) the chairs were IN the water. haha! it ruled!!!
the stars that night... WOW! on the coast. with no outside light... it was super. the milky way streatched from one end of the sky to the other. and the big dipper looked like it was getting tucked into bed behind the hill. if it wasn't so windy we would have stayed out there all night.
