BEEP... BEEP... BEEP....

that was the sound that we fell asleep and woke up to, two days in a row.
kind of like a car alarm but in slow motion. we learned later it was a fog horn... stupid fog horn....

so anyway... yesterday we had an early start... as we were woken up by "knock knock knock.... SECURITY... no overnight parking!"
FINE. we're up! we're up!... so we sat and groggily waited for the sun to rise. trying our best to caffeinate up.

at least there was a pretty sunrise in the ugly parking lot.

we drove for a while through the beautiful redwoods. until we got to arcada... the cutest little anarchist town full of smiling faces, prettiness and grants favorite of all......the co-op market!!!

and here he is to tell you all about it.....

so, this market was awesome, produce was so cheap, take these beautiful bunches of beets below, $1.69 a bunch all local and organic vs. mark-up on yates in victoria, 4.99?

i'm going to make a little list of stuff that was seen, six kinds of kale and chard, five varieties of cherry tomatoes alone, amazing different mixes of lettuces, all of the meat is organic also and the prices are per lb or kg not this 100gm bullshit

and the local beer section almost drove me back to the bottle

the cashier was wearing this t-shirt ("homeland security... keeping america safe", with picture of native americans to boot)
the rest of the day was basically spent driving.... drive drive drive... driving 15 miles per hour on a bumpy curvy road... there's alot of coast. and although it is so beautiful...it was LOOONG....
but we did get to see the immortal tree... and try on some raccoon hats which i found very amusing but grant convinced me not to pick up that new fashion statement. why do i listen to my husband??? i totally think i could have pulled that off! yes?!
well at 8pm or so we finally found a "campground" in bodega bay. i put the campround in rabbit ears because it's not like any campground i would have normally ever chose to stay at... ever...
but it was a place to stay... and we were exhausted so stayed it what we did.

today is a new day. we feel much more refreshed and ready to take on more of this great land!

this stop is petaluma ... next stop? sanfran? we'll have to see...
and so will you!

love grant and anna.

ps... we haven't forgotten about the pictures of cat town and sylvia beach hotel. we will put them up... don't you worry.... it will happen. so just hold on tight....
