bunkity bunk bunk

bunk sandwiches. that's where we ate. and let me tell you... that is most definitely an ironic name.. cuz these sandwiches were faaaarrr from being bunk. they were delicious is every way possible.... pretty much the best sandwich shop ever!!!

and the pulled pork. wow. if this place existed in victoria... we'd be in trouble.....

this trip has already put a number on (or added a few to) my "waistline" but it's been worth it. my go0dness!!! it has!


we moved into a new room at the ace hotel. this one has a view of the city. which is a big step up from our last room with a view of the gutter.

this bike is painted on our wall! i love it!our vanity station which i actually need a step stool to look into the mirror! haha!

check out this comfy bed.... HUGE compared to tall guys!!! although to be honest.. i really do miss it in there.and the art in the stairway. so cool!!!

tonight we ordered room service from clyde common. some salads and weird animal parts(organs) that grant likes...

confession time...

oh geez. things have not been going my way today. partly due to outside forces. but i must admit... most due to my own stupidity.
to walk into a wall.. to trip and fall. to blurt out things that should probably stay in my head. to become (vocally) startled at loud noises or sudden movements ... those are all normal for me, in fact they have become such a part of my every day life i hardly even notice anymore.
today though. today i started to notice all these things. and there just seemed to be one after another. all day long. each one becoming glaringly more clear that i'm pretty much a big idiot!!! the most recent and "permanent" of today being i decided to dye my hair a nice deep copper. that on it's own seems like an ok decision. (not great. but ok.) it was forgetting to add one main ingredient to the mix untill after my hair had been soaked in the chemicals...it was then when i noticed a lonesome little container sitting on the bed. oh anna. anna anna anna. you silly girl. i didn't think i could possibly do one more stupid thing in this day. but apparently i could....i opened the forgotten container and just dumped it on my hair and hoped for the best. i mean it's just hair right...
well now it's done. in "permenant" hair colour... and (not) surprisingly i dont' like it. not because it's unevenly dyed. or that certain sections we're missed all together. not because i don't think it suits me cuz my eyebrows are invisibly blonde.... . but beacuse it's just one more stupid thing that i did today.
this,,, my friends. is my confession to you.

portland....?

we're at the ace hotel in portland!!! how did that happen? i mean... we didnt' plan on getting here for a couple more days and... staying in a hotel..... naww.. we wouldn't do that. we'll just park on the street and sleep...

haa!!!! yeah right! do we not know ourselves??!!!..... i mean come on!

all day today i think we've been magnetically pulled towards portland. this is where we came last august with good good friends katie and shane and that trip changed grant's life... he ate his heart out last time.. and is planning to do the same now. so what if we get in a little bit more debt. i mean, that knot in my stomach from money worries, i'm sure i can breathe that out. grant will just need a raise when we get back and i'll need a job that pays. (someone please hire me.)

ok. ok. enough rambling. let's get on with it.
much of today was spend in the van driving.... so much road work being done.. which was frustrating but also pretty fun when we got to ride behind this guy!!! haha. so great!


what wasn't great at all was the fire that was burning hard when we drove past medford.
stupid stupid destructive wild fires... but really beautiful fiery sunsets!!!

just before 11 we got to our hotel and slipped into eat at the clyde common(the restaurant attatched) i got a plate of delicious carrot gnudi and grant got some pork belly.. and something that had both trout and beef tongue in it...


dessert was marvoulous. even though i'm not a fan of figs...

ok. seriously.. so tired now. my eyes are closing on me... need my overnight nap. (grants already started his!) we have much exploring the city to do tomorrow. goodnight. xo

as promised... we're back. but only for a minute as the campfire, dinner and night of relaxing is calling to us......

i think we're alone now...

we opened our doors to this view this morning! so nice. all the weekend campers have left and it seems like we're all alone. blissful! up at the visitors center there's wifi so you can relax and know that you'll hear from us tonight! hehe.
